What floor plans are currently available?

Degree of Honor offers studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments for rent in Downtown St. Paul, MN. Each layout combines modern finishes with the character of a landmark building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. How do I schedule a tour?

You can schedule a tour of Degree of Honor by visiting the Schedule a Tour page, submitting a request through the Contact Us page, or calling our leasing office directly. Our team can walk you through available floor plans, apartment features, community amenities, and the building’s direct Skyway access.

What is the application process?

Once you choose your preferred apartment home, you’ll complete the online application, submit the application fee and holding deposit, and provide any required documentation. Applications are reviewed for income, credit, rental history, and public criminal records. If an applicant does not meet eligibility requirements, the holding fee will be refunded.

How long does the approval process take?

Most applications are processed within 1–3 business days once all required documents have been received. Timing can vary depending on verification needs and how quickly supporting information is submitted.

What lease terms do you offer?

Degree of Honor offers flexible lease terms ranging from 6 to 18 months, depending on availability and the time of year. Please contact the leasing office or submit an inquiry online for current lease term options.

Is there a waitlist if the floor plan I want is not available?

Yes. If your preferred apartment layout is not currently available, you can join our priority waitlist by submitting an online application, a $50 application fee per person, and a $75 priority reservation deposit. Our leasing team will contact you when a matching home becomes available.

Is Degree of Honor located in a historic building?

Yes. Degree of Honor is located in a landmark building completed in 1961 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building was originally developed as the national headquarters of the Degree of Honor Protective Association, a women-led fraternal benefit society with roots dating back to the 1800s.

Pricing & Fees

What is the monthly rent?

Monthly rent at Degree of Honor varies by floor plan, apartment size, views, availability, and lease term. For the most accurate pricing, please visit the Floor Plans page or contact our leasing team directly.

Are utilities included in rent?

Utilities are not included in the monthly rent. Residents are responsible for electricity, water, sewer, trash, and optional services such as cable, internet, and phone. Please contact the leasing office for complete utility details.

What is the security deposit amount?

Security deposit amounts vary based on screening results and may range from $500 to one month’s rent. Please contact our leasing office for deposit requirements specific to your application.

Are there any application or administrative fees?

A $50 non-refundable application fee is required per applicant, along with a $175 holding fee to reserve your selected apartment during the approval process. Once approved, the holding fee will be applied toward your security deposit. If an applicant does not meet eligibility requirements, the holding fee will be refunded.

Do you require renters insurance?

Yes, renters insurance is required for all residents at Degree of Honor with a minimum liability coverage of $100,000. Please contact the leasing office for policy requirements and available options.

Pet Policies

Are pets allowed?

Yes! Degree of Honor is a pet-friendly apartment community in Downtown St. Paul, welcoming up to two pets per apartment home.

Is there a pet fee, deposit, or monthly pet rent?

Degree of Honor allows up to two pets per apartment. A $200 non-refundable pet fee applies, and monthly pet rent is $30 for cats and $40 for dogs.

Are there any breed or weight restrictions?

Yes, breed restrictions apply, and pets are subject to a 75 lb. weight limit. Please contact the leasing team for the current restricted breed list and full pet policy details.

Apartment Features

What appliances are included?

Each apartment includes stainless-steel Frigidaire appliances, including a refrigerator, oven/range, microwave, and dishwasher. Homes also feature white quartz countertops, dark wood-style flat panel cabinetry, a single-basin kitchen sink, and an in-unit Electrolux front-loading washer and dryer.

Is there in-unit laundry?

Yes, every apartment at Degree of Honor includes an in-unit Electrolux front-loading washer and dryer for convenient laundry care at home.

Do the apartments have air conditioning and heating?

Yes, all residences include central air conditioning and heating, along with a programmable digital thermostat for added comfort and control.

Do you offer furnished units?

Apartments are offered unfurnished, but our leasing team can connect you with third-party furnishing providers if needed.

Are there options for upgraded finishes?

Degree of Honor apartments feature modern finishes such as white quartz countertops, stainless-steel appliances, dark wood-style cabinetry, rich walnut wood-style flooring, custom pendant and recessed lighting, and 9-foot ceilings. Select homes also include kitchen islands with white cabinetry, sliding barn doors on alcove-style bedrooms, walk-in closets with built-in shelving, and skyline or Mississippi River views.

Do any apartments have views of Downtown St. Paul or the Mississippi River?

Do any layouts include alcove-style bedrooms?

Yes. Select apartment homes include alcove-style bedrooms with sliding barn doors, offering a stylish way to create separation while maintaining the open feel of the layout.

What amenities are available for residents?

Degree of Honor offers amenities designed around downtown convenience, wellness, and resident connection. Community features include a clubroom lounge with billiards and a partial kitchen, 24-hour fitness center with yoga studio, indoor bike storage with repair station, community package room, controlled access with FOB entry, elevator access, trash chutes, recycling, on-site security patrol, planned social activities, and direct access to the St. Paul Skyway system.

Do you have a fitness center?

Degree of Honor includes a 24-hour fitness center with a yoga studio, giving residents space to stay active without leaving the building.

What is your policy for breaking a lease?
